Chuck Berry: Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll

1986, Saint Louis Keith Richards assembles a pickup band for Chuck Berry's 60th birthday, consisting of Robert Cray, Joey Spampinato, Eric Clapton, himself, and long-time Berry pianist Johnnie Johnson. Berry plays his great rock tunes on stage alongside Etta James, Linda Ronstadt, and Julian Lennon. His abilities as a writer, lyricist, singer, guitarist, and entertainer are on display, while Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bruce Springstein, the Everly Brothers, and Roy Orbison, among others, discuss him in behind-the-scenes interviews. Berry even has a rare occurrence—a rehearsal. This depiction of a master is completed by archival video from the early 1950s and a duet with John Lennon.
