Come See the Paradise

Jack McGurn, an Irish American, and Lily Dawanura, a beautiful Japanese American, meet at the start of World War II and fall in love. They marry. Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor, and the cultural differences between the lovers become too much for them both to deal with at the same time. Lily and the Kawamuras are moved. Jack is sent to a bleak, outdoor internment camp in California. He can't help the woman he loves, so he gives up on ever getting her family's approval.
