DAU. Natasha

Natasha is in charge of the canteen at a top-secret Soviet scientific center from the 1950s. This is the hub of the DAU world; it is where everyone congregates: institute personnel, scientists, and visiting foreign guests. Natasha's world is tiny, divided between the canteen's demands during the day and alcohol-fueled nights with her younger coworker Olga, during which the two reveal their ambitions for romance and a new future. Natasha meets and sleeps with a visiting French scientist Luc Bige during a party one evening. The following day, her life takes a dramatic change when she is summoned to an interview by General Vladimir Azhippo of the KGB, who probes her about her relationship with the foreign visitor.
