Geek, and You Shall Find

Following their attendance at a local comic book convention, three filmmakers are so moved by the stories given by cosplayers that they decide to study geek culture further. Attending other conventions across the country and speaking with legendary creators such as Kevin Eastman, Stan Lee, and George R. R. Martin, the trio not only begins to discover why people are drawn to superheroes and superhero stories, but also how being a geek could help them live fuller, more fulfilling lives. Geek, and You Shall Find recounts the origins of popular stories such as Superman, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In describing how these characters and their worlds came to be, the designers disclose how often they have been influenced by real-world social problems. Moreover, by continuing to interview fans who have been inspired by these works, this video demonstrates how superheroes may also tackle these social challenges.
