Jefferson in Paris

After the death of his wife, Thomas Jefferson takes the position of US ambassador to pre-revolutionary France, however he struggles to adapt to life in a society where the aristocracy subjugates an increasingly restless peasantry. He falls in love with intellectual artist Maria Cosway while in Paris, but his attentions are diverted when his daughter travels from Virginia accompanied by her lovely slave, Sally Hemings.
