Peepli Live

Natha a poor farmer from Peepli village in the heart of rural India will lose his plot of land due to an unsettled bank loan. A quick fix to the problem is the a federal government program that assists the family members of indebted farmers who have dedicated suicide. As a means of survival Farmer Natha can choose to pass away. His bro enjoys to push him in the direction of this one-of-a-kind 'honour' however Natha hesitates. Regional elections are around the bend and what may have been an additional undetected event turns into a 'cause celebre' with everyone desiring a piece of the action. Political bigwigs, high-ranking politicians, neighborhood henchmen and also the ever-zealous media descend upon drowsy Peepli to lay their claim. The concern on everybody's lips - "Will he or Won't he?" As the mania escalates, no one seems to care how Natha truly feels.
