Israel "Reefa" Hernandez Jr, an 18-year-old Colombian immigrant as well as gifted artist, is investing his last summertime in Miami with good friends, family and also his new lady Frankie prior to transferring to New York City on an art scholarship. While Israel and also his buddies skateboard the city streets and spray paint the walls of Wynwood, Miami's graffiti Mecca, anxieties arise twofold: Israel and his family members nervously await their Environment-friendly Cards while he seriously looks for acknowledgment for his art. On August 6, 2013, as Israel spray paints one last wall which would command immediate respect from his peers, a deadly encounter with a policeman leaves his friends and family devastated, the Miami area outraged, and the country reeling from another situation of cops brutality.
