Sister Act

A Reno singer witnesses a mob murder and the cops stash her at a nunnery to protect her by the mob's hitmen. The mommy takes steps to limit her sway on the other nuns, and does not trust her. Eventually the failing choir is rescued by the singer and begins helping with community projects, which gets her a meeting on television -- and identification by the telescope.
