The summer of 1984: It's been 30 years since Duane led the high school football team and Jacy was homecoming queen. This Texas town near Wichita Falls is getting ready to celebrate its 100th birthday. Banks and oil prices are down, and Duane is $12 million in debt. His wife Karla drinks too much, his kids are always in trouble, and he flirts with the wives of his friends. Jacqueline has come back to town, after a few years of acting in movies, living in Italy, and losing her child in a car accident. People think Duane and Jacy will go back to their high school romance. And Sonny is "tired in his mind," which makes people worry about his safety. It's not clear if these friends can stay together in middle age.
