Teen Ben Mockridge feels life in a Wild West ranch town has absolutely nothing better to supply after that horse-cart racing with other hicks, so he naively pleads cattle company proprietor Frank Culpepper to engage him as youngest cowboy for a lengthy livestock route to a fort, his mommy hardly notifications. Ben doesn't even seem to get it when he's informed to report as 'little Mary' to the old chef, whose words cowboy is something you do only if you have absolutely nothing far better progressively become clear. Rather than an interesting heroic macho life, it's unlimited hard work, stupid chores and shame, also obtaining essentially captured with his trousers down, burglarized of his steed, witnessing unpunished crimes ...
