The Dresser

One night in a tiny regional theatre during World War II a troupe of touring celebrities stage a generation of Shakespeares King Lear. Bombs are falling, sirens are wailing, the drape is up within a single hour or so but the actor/manager Sir who is playing Lear is no where to be viewed. His dresser Norman has to fight to keep the production living however will Sir turn up punctually will he be able to carry out that 29, of course, if he does? The Dresser is a funny and profoundly moving story of devotion and friendship since Sir reflects on his lifelong accomplishments and attempts to reconcile his friendships with those in his employ before the closing curtain.
