The Other Lamb

The story of Selah, a little girl who was born into a restrictive cult known as the Flock, is told in this eerie and nightmare-like novel. It relates the story of Selah. The members of the Flock, who are entirely females and female children, reside in a rural compound and are commanded by a single male member who is simply referred to as Shepherd. Selah, a daughter who is on the verge of entering her teenage years, is granted the tremendous privilege of partaking in the sacred rite of the birthing of the lambs, upon which they depend for survival. During this event, she has an experience that is both startling and otherworldly. She starts having bizarre visions that make her question her own reality as well as all that the Shepherd has taught her and her sisters over the course of their lives.
