The Tree
There is nothing unspectacular than collecting water, or can there be? It's a easy job, but here it takes almost 45 minutes, at what feels like real time: the person walks throughout the narrow roads, dog in tow, and stopping to get glass bottles at the bright doorways, before heading down into the river. A lengthy row, a trek over land and finally the bottles are filled. It's already dawn. The night was quiet, save to the noise of these bottles clinking together and the thumping of the firearms in the length, which should be why the person met no one, why what's still as a painting, just like what the boy sees out of this window at the beginning, a village plucked from a story book. Considering all of the lengthy tracking shots, it would be tempting to contact this life that was true, however, the caliber of the light is, all saturated reds greens and yellows. Even the picture is lit like a stage-set.
