The Trial of Joan of Arc
During the Hundred Years' War, in the year 1431, Rouen, located in Normandy, was under siege. Joan of Arc, also known as the Maid of Orléans, was put through an unfair trial by an ecclesiastical court that was presided over by her adversaries from England after she was taken captive by French soldiers fighting for an opposing group in France.
