Tisza: Autumn Sketches

Along the banks of a river, the landscape is beginning to show the telltale indications of autumn. On the riverbank, a number of locals are currently constructing a bed made of stone blocks in an effort to prevent further erosion. Others are engaged in activities such as fishing or maintenance work. A modest steamboat cruises past here. Stoker is putting coal into the oven, which is located in the engine room. As the river continues its course, it will eventually pass by a tiny settlement. A crew of rowers is getting ready for upcoming competitions by practicing. Through the lens of a microscope, a few biologists are examining the bacteria that were taken from the water. A new barge is getting its paint job while a crew of workmen prepares to launch it into the river. A young youngster abandons his sandcastle and sprints alongside the river after spotting a speedboat in the distance.
