Cheers is an American sitcom television show which ran for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993. It had been made by Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions in association with Paramount Network Television for NBC and made by the team of Glen Charles, James Burrows, and Les Charles. The show is set at a pub by which a group of sailors fit to unwind, drink, and interact called Cheers at Boston, Massachusetts. The show's theme song, written and performed by Gary Portnoy, and co-written with Judy Hart Angelo, given its famous refrain,"Where Everyone Knows Your Name", as the show's tagline. It had been nearly canceled throughout its first season when it ranked last in ratings for its premiere, after premiering on September 30, 1982. Cheers, however, eventually turned into a highly rated television show in the USA, earning a top ten evaluation throughout 8 of its 11 seasons, including 1 season at #1. The show spent the majority of its run on NBC's Thursday night"Must See TV" lineup. Its show finale was broadcast on May 20, 1993, and also the series's 275 episodes have been successfully syndicated worldwide. Nominated on the atmosphere, 28 Emmy Awards have been made by it from the 117 nominations. The personality Frasier Crane was featured in his eponymous show, which contained guest appearances by virtually all the major and minor Cheers characters and later aired up until 2004.
