Cybill

Chuck Lorre created the American sitcom Cybill, which ran on CBS from January 2, 1995 until July 7, 1998. The show follows the lives of Cybill Sheridan, played by Cybill Shepherd, a twice-divorced single mother of two in her forties who has never received her big break in show business. Christine Baranski played as Cybill's hard-drinking buddy Maryann. Alicia Witt and Dedee Pfeiffer co-starred as Sheridan's daughters. Alan Rosenberg and Tom Wopat portrayed their respective fathers. The sitcom was created by Carsey-Werner Productions and YBYL Productions, and its initial executive producers were Shepherd, Lorre, Howard Gould, Jay Daniel, Marcy Carsey, and Tom Werner. The critically acclaimed television series Cybill was nominated for twelve Emmy Awards and won the 1996 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Shepherd was awarded a third Golden Globe for her portrayal, while Baranski received an Emmy, a SAG Award, and an American Comedy Award.
