Da Ali G Show
Sacha Baron Cohen, an English comedian, is the creator of two linked satirical television series that both go by the name "Da Ali G Show." Both of these shows feature the character Ali G. Channel 4 in the United Kingdom was the initial broadcaster for the first series, while HBO in the United States was the broadcaster for the second season. In the United Kingdom and Australia, the second season of Ali G in da USA was referred to as Ali G in da USAiii. In the series, Baron Cohen assumes the role of three unconventional journalists: the lead character Ali G, a Kazakh named Borat Sagdiyev, and a gay Austrian named Brüno Gehard. The trio conducts interviews with people who are unaware that they are being interviewed, during which they pose strange and outrageous questions. HBO made the announcement on the 23rd of July, 2005, that there were no plans for the network to produce any future seasons of the show. Following the success of the show, Baron Cohen has gone on to create three films starring each of his three characters from the show: Ali G Indahouse, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, and Brüno.
