Dexter's Laboratory
Genndy Tartakovsky created Dexter's Laboratory for Cartoon Network. Dexter is a boy-genius inventor with a secret lab. He fights his sister Dee Dee, who usually gets in despite his efforts, and his neighbor Mandark. Dial M for Monkey is about Dexter's pet lab monkey-turned-superhero, while The Justice Friends is about three superhero roommates. Tartakovsky pitched World Premiere Toons based on student films he made at CalArts. Cartoon Network ran four shorts in 1995 and 1996 before ordering a 13-episode first season on April 28, 1996. Tartakovsky departed the series in 1999 to focus on Samurai Jack and Star Wars: Clone Wars. In 2001, Cartoon Network Studios restarted the series, and after 26 episodes, it terminated on November 20, 2003.
