Jason and the Argonauts
The ancient Greek myth of Jason and the Golden Fleece served as the inspiration for the movie Jason and the Argonauts. Jason is only a child when he witnesses his uncle Pelias brutally oust his father from his family's leadership position and then kill him. After twenty years have passed, Jason travels back to his homeland to reclaim his rightful status as king. However, Pelias gives him an execution order, and in order to save himself, Jason is forced to embark on a perilous journey to recover the famous Golden Fleece. Therefore, Jason assembles a cast of misfits and sets sail on the Argo with them. This Hallmark Production was developed in the form of a two-part mini-series event, with Jason London playing the role of Jason and Jolene Blalock taking on the role of Medea.
