Martin is the American sitcom produced by HBO Independent Productions which aired for five seasons, from August 27, 1992. The show is both titled after and celebrities Martin Lawrence along with supporting characters Thomas Mikal Ford Tichina Arnold, Carl Anthony Payne II, along with Tisha Campbell. Reflecting the Fox network's popularity Martin was among the system's highest-rated shows throughout the sitcom run. In contrast to this prevalence of NBC's"Must See TV" on Thursday nights at the 1990s, many African American and Latino viewers flocked to Fox's Thursday night Lineup of both Martin, Living Single, and New York Undercover. These were the three highest-rated series one of households such as its 1996--1997 year old.
