Samurai Deeper Kyo
Akimine Kamijyo created the manga Samurai Deeper Kyo. Samurai Deeper Kyo follows Demon Eyes Kyo, a feared samurai whose spirit is bound inside his opponent Mibu Kyoshiro's body. Kyo's pursuit is joined by bounty-hunter Shiina Yuya, heir to the Tokugawa shogunate Benitora, and Tokugawa adversary Sanada Yukimura. Samurai Deeper Kyo was published in Kodansha's Weekly Shnen Magazine from October 15, 1999 to May 10, 2006. 2002 saw the anime adaptation of the manga. TV Tokyo aired 26 episodes of the Studio Deen production from July 2 to December 23, 2002. The US, Canada, and UK have licensed the manga and anime. 2002: Tokyopop bought the comic. Kodansha's license arrangements expired in 2009, preventing Tokyopop from continuing the English edition. Del Rey Manga has completed Samurai Deeper Kyo by releasing volumes 35 and 36 in a single volume and volumes 37 and 38 in a single volume. Media Blasters acquired AnimeWorks in 2003. US Encore channels briefly broadcast it.
