The Andy Griffith Show

The Andy Griffith Show is a American sit com first televised on CBS between April 1, 1968 and October 3, 1960. Andy Griffith describes the widowed Agency of the fictional small community of Mayberry, North Carolina. His life is complicated by an awkward, but wellmeaning deputy, Barney Fife, a spinster aunt and housekeeper, Aunt Bee, Opie, and also a precocious young son. -do-wells, bumbling pals, and girl friends. Andy Griffith said in a Today Show interview, related to the time length of the show:"Well, though we never said , and though it was shot at the'60s, it had an atmosphere of the'30s. It was we were doing so of a period gone by." The show ended its final season at number one and never placed lower than seventh in the Nielsen ratings. It has been ranked by TV Guide because the show in television series. String Knotts and Bavier accumulated a total of six Emmy awards though Griffith nor the show won awards throughout its run. The show, a semi-spin-off in a episode of The Danny Thomas Show titled"Danny Meets Andy Griffith", spawned its own spin-off series, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., a film series, Mayberry R.F.D., and also a reunion telemovie, go back to Mayberry. The enduring popularity of the show has generated a good deal of show-related product. Re-runs now broadcast on TV Land, and the complete series is available on DVD. By streaming video services such as Netflix all eight seasons are also available.
