The Slave Hunters
The Slave Hunters is a South Korean action historical drama that was released in 2010. It is set during the Joseon Dynasty and tells the story of a slave hunter who is hunting for the woman he loves while also attempting to capture a general who has become a runaway slave. It was broadcast on KBS2 beginning on January 6, 2010, and concluding on March 25, 2010, with a total of 24 episodes airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 over that time period. A sufficient display of physical brawn, complicated yet realistic action scenes, bawdy comedy, and poetic moments of melancholy and humanity contributed to the series' appeal to spectators intellectually as well as visually. The usage of a Red One camera, which gave each shot its theater-worthy sheen, was singled out as a particular point of praise by film critics. The director of this film was Kwak Jung-hwan. The popular television show held the number one spot on the ratings chart for seven weeks in a row, with an average audience share of 31.7 percent and a maximum audience share of 35.9 percent. Both the Seoul International Drama Awards and the KBS Drama Awards bestowed their distinctions onto the show. Because of his performance, Jang was also considered for a nomination for the International Emmy Award in the category of best actor in 2011.
