Xavier: Renegade Angel
Xavier: The Rebel John Lee, Vernon Chatman, Jim Tozzi, and Alyson Levy created the American CGI fantasy-comedy television series Angel. In addition, Lee and Chatman are the creators of the Wonder Showzen series. PFFR and Cinematico collaborated on the show's production and animation. It aired on Adult Swim at midnight on November 4, 2007, and on the Adult Swim website on November 1, 2007. It follows the amusing ramblings of an itinerant humanoid pseudo-shaman and spiritual seeker named Xavier, whose plot is nonlinear and incoherent. The show is known for its frequent use of black comedy, surrealist, and absurdist humor with a psychedelic, New Age lens. As a result, it is typically labeled TV-MA, which means that it contains explicit violence, racially/ethnically derogatory language, and gruesome visuals that are deemed "too morbid and too unintelligible for young audiences" to watch. On November 4, 2007, the show Xavier: Renegade Angel debuted and was terminated owing to low ratings on April 16, 2009, with a total of 20 episodes.
