In the Start of World War II, a German Uboat is sunk in Canada's Hudson Bay. Hoping to evade capture, a little band of soldiers led by controlling officer Lieutenant Hirth attempts to cross the border into the USA, that hasn't been entered the war and is officially impartial. Along the way, the German soldiers encounter brave men such as Philip, Johnnie, a pioneer of a Hutterite farming community, including Peter, a writer, a French-Canadian fur trapper and an soldier, Andy Brock.
