Derek Vineyard is paroled after serving 3 years in prison for killing two thugs who tried to break into/steal his truck. During his brother, Danny Vineyard's narration, we know that before visiting prison, Derek was a skinhead and the pioneer of a violent white supremacist group who committed acts of racial offense all through L.A. along with his actions heavily influenced Danny. Reformed and out of prison, as he did, Derek severs contact and becomes determined to keep Danny from going down the path that is violent.
