The Moderns
Nick Hart is a struggling American artist living in Paris's expat community in the 1920s. He spends the majority of his time drinking and socializing in local cafes, as well as harassing gallery owner Libby Valentin to sell his paintings. He becomes involved in Nathalie de Ville's plot to forge three paintings. This leads to several encounters with Bertram Stone, an American rubber magnate who happens to be married to Hart's ex-wife Rachel.
