Beyond the Wasteland

Beyond the Wasteland was filmed in Australia, the United States, Italy, France, Germany, and Japan. It shows how Mad Max fans from all over the world go to crazy lengths to show their love for the movie. We are taken into the world of Mad Max and learn about the strange fans, their costumes, and their machines as they try to find their place in the community of Mad Max fans. The documentary also follows Bertrand Cadart, an original cast member, as he continues to fight stage IV leukemia and makes his last trip from his home on the Sunshine Coast to the "Wasteland" in Silverton, where Mad Max 2 was filmed. Beyond the Wasteland not only celebrates life, but also the power of passion to make a person change.
