My Uncle Benjamin

Even though Benjamin is over over heels in love with Manette, the gorgeous daughter of the innkeeper's wealthy family, Manette has no intention of giving in to the young doctor until she sees the wedding contract, and marriage is not in keeping with Benjamin's attitude of independence. For the same reason, he rejects the efforts of his sister Bettine to arrange for him to be married to Arabelle, the daughter of the elderly Dr. Minxit. Benjamin agrees to meet with the young lady in person. He is discovered at the inn that evening by his sister, who also happens to be Manette, who has been arrested by her father. As a result, she chooses to accompany Benjamin on his journey. The mission, however, is put on hold as a result of an incident with the rotund Marquis. The Marquis humiliates Benjamin with a practical joke that he doesn't understand. Benjamin is adamant about getting his retribution. He is successful in part because of the beautiful Vicomte Hector de Pont-Cassé, who also assists Manette with her troubles with her father. However, Benjamin has been apprehended by the Marquis...
