Oscar and Lucinda

Oscar Hopkins becomes an Anglican pastor after being abused by his evangelistic father as a child, and develops a divine obsession with gambling. Lucinda Leplastrier, an Australian heiress, is in London looking for materials for her newly acquired glass factory. Oscar meets Lucinda aboard ship after deciding to become a missionary in Australia, and they develop a mutual fascination. They make a bet that will change their lives forever.
