Nkem ultimately obtains pregnant and 5 months into the pregnancy they are told by their physician that their coming child has a congenital disorder (down syndrome) from a chromosome defect which was uncovered after an ultrasound scan is performed. they are troubled by this problem as well as are torn in between maintaining their infant or getting rid of it. They choose to end their fetus wanting that they have sufficient opportunities of having even more children. after the discontinuation of their infant Nkem all of a sudden realizes she has made the most awful blunder of her life and also this impacts their marriage significantly.
