The Bishop's Wife

An Episcopal Bishop, Henry Brougham, was working for months to the plans for an new cathedral which he hopes will likely probably be paid for primarily by way of a stubborn widow. He is losing sight of the reason he turned into a churchman at the first place and of the loved ones. Enter Dudley, an angel sent to help him. Dudley does help everyone he meets, but perhaps not necessarily. Except for Henry, everyone loves him, but Henry begins to feel that Dudley is there to displace him, both at work and within his household's affections, as Christmas approaches.
