The Gleaners and I
Varda's attention is drawn to gleaners, those who comb through fields that have previously been harvested in search of stray potatoes or turnips. From the rural outskirts of France to the bustling green markets of Paris, her study follows those who find a way to use what society discards, be it out of necessity or as a kind of activism.
