6teen

6teen is a Canadian animated sitcom that premiered on Teletoon in Canada in 2004. In the United States, the premiere of Sixteen on Nickelodeon occurred on December 18, 2005, and the series was canceled on May 13, 2006. 6teen formerly ran in reruns on The N from December 26, 2005 to July 28, 2006, but returned to The N as a 24-hour channel from December 31, 2007 until June 21, 2008. After its launch on October 23, 2008, the American version of Sixteen aired on Cartoon Network. Since its premiere on October 23, 2008, 6teen had numerous weekly airings on Cartoon Network until mid-November 2009, when it was taken off the schedule. Then, it resumed with frequent airings in mid-February 2010 and was again taken off the air after the series finale on June 21, 2010. Due to a reorganization of the network's programming schedule, Sixteen was withdrawn from Cartoon Network after a brief reappearance in January 2011. Popgirl occasionally airs this content. Brian Melo performed an acoustic rendition of the theme song for the series finale, "Bye Bye Nikki: Part 2." The series concluded with 93 episodes. Both Canada and the United States have DVD and iTunes releases. Despite the series' conclusion, creators Pertsch and McGillis have expressed openness to a two-hour reunion telemovie or feature film. Currently, it is not on Cartoon Network's schedule, although episodes are accessible via Cartoon Network on Demand in certain regions. On January 3, 2011, 6teen returned with reruns to Teletoon, where it airs on weekend mornings at 3:00 a.m. EST. It has also recently resumed its former weekday schedule at 7:00 p.m. Also accessible on Netflix streaming in the United States and the United Kingdom.
