Disco
Disco was a pop music program which aired from 1971 to 1982 to the ZDF system in Germany. It aired on the first Saturday of each month at 7:30PM, each series running 45 minutes. Shows were produced. Italian actress and comedian Ilja Richter hosted the series. Its predecessor on ZDF, 4-3-2-1 Hot & Sweet has been aired between 1970 and 1966, presenters included Suzanne Doucet and Ilja Richter. Disco functioned a younger audience that was pop-oriented compared to the Hitparade of ZDF, and until 1972, its main rival was Beat-Club, followed by both on ARD, Musikladen.
Repeats of Disco are since 1984 on ZDF Musikkanal, after its closedown at 1989 on 3sat. Since 2004, repeats of the series aired. To broadcast re runs, ZDF Dokukanal started Back in 2007, beginning with episodes in 1975 and multiple repeats of this show have been demonstrated from 2008 on hit24.
The series focussed at that time of broadcasting current on graph hits, giving about airtime to international pop music and German Schlager. Despite the name, it failed to especially focus on disco music but it featured lots of disco strikes provided that these were graph relevant. .
