Natasha is set over the course of a single summer. It's the story of Mark Berman, 16, the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants who lives in the Toronto suburbs. When his uncle enters into an arranged marriage with a woman from Moscow, the woman and her fourteen-year-old daughter, Natasha, arrive in Canada. Mark, a slacker, is drafted by his parents to take care of the strange girl. He discovers that she led a troubled and promiscuous life in Moscow. A forbidden and secret romance develops between the two of them, with bizarre and tragic consequences for everyone involved.
